How to Tell if You’re an Alcoholic. Eight Signs of Alcoholism. And More Proof that All Women are Insane.

Published by clamdobber at 2:04 pm under Alcohol Edit This

“Am I an alcoholic?” This is a question that many alcoholics don’t ask themselves. It’s akin to if you know you’re insane you’re probably not that crazy. However if you are asking yourself this question, here are some signs of alcoholism:

1. Do you feel guilty about drinking?

2. Do you drink to calm nerves, forget worries or to boost a sad mood?

3. Have you had unsuccessful attempts to stop drinking?

4. Do you lie or hide your drinking habits?

5. Do you feel irritable, resentful or unreasonable when you don’t drink?

6. Have you caused harm to yourself or someone else because of your drinking?

7. Do you find you have to drink more and more to get the desired result?

8. Are you having medical or financial problems as a result of your drinking?

Now the list isn’t all inclusive, and sure there are times when say number two for instance does not necessarily mean one is an alcoholic. I mean, who hasn’t had a drink after a hard day at work? And isn’t the point to “boost a sad mood?” or any mood for that matter.

If you’re a chick reading this, you may have a whole other set of issues going on deep in your twisted psyche. The experts say that almost always for a woman, drinking is a result of deep psychological issues, and the drinking is only the tip of the iceberg. Usually it’s to cover some emotional scar, she may feel that she cannot function in society without a drink, and once that dependency is established it is almost impossible to break away from.

“Well, couldn’t the same be said for men?” You may be asking yourself. I have no effing idea. I couldn’t find a study like it anywhere. But I did find more interesting data for the ladies which will be posted soon.
