Mad Scientist Cure Addiction by Shooting Laser into Brain… It’s Alive!

Published by clamdobber at 8:57 pm under Studies Show Edit This

I think I saw this on Star Trek. Scientists use a laser beam to shoot nanoparticles into your body to cure anything from a broken leg to alien infestation. Well now real life scientists think that shooting these things in your brain can cure addiction. Science is really cool, but I’m not nearly bright enough to understand the details (well that plus I’m getting ready to leave and it’s a long article.) So what I’ll do is give you this article to read yourself. All you need to know is that teleporters are just around the corner, and I’m still pissed I don’t have a flying car. It’s 2009 for Christ’s sake!

Nanoparticles going into humans is like superconductors being used to make super-tiny computers: still science fiction. No one has as yet figured out how to do this effectively (or safely). Unfortunately, there are times when science just lags behind…..as we wait….and still the lag. I’m sure that paying scientists a much more liveable wage would help speed up this progress (instead of having them bail into other career avenues). I should know- I am one.
